Om nom nom! The sweets here are delicious - but they're definitely on the pricier side. A few items are winners - the stand outs being the opera cake and the chocolate cheesecake. The opera cake has the right amount of sweetness with a delicious little crunch to it (and a lovely mocha flavour). The chocolate cheesecake (all their cheesecakes I would guess) have a fantastic crust to them. Clearly I'm a fan of textures.
The caramel meringue cake (I can't remember what it's called) is also yummy but really sweet. The mango cheesecake is also good - I suspect their entire selection of cheesecakes are all decent.
We also picked up a slice of red velvet cake, but I was totally disappointed with it. It was clearly stale (the edges were all hard and dried. The macarons were also extremely sweet, and the flavours didn't come across as strong (some had a filling that just felt like I was eating fat). The better macarons I tried were the cassis and the lychee rose. The less good ones were peanut butter and surprisingly the strawberry (lacking in strawberry flavour).
Despite the ups and downs, I've been here twice now, and I think it's a bit better than Pastel just a few stores down for the winner cakes I mentioned above. I wouldn't mind coming here again to try a few more of their random cakes before making a final judgement. Anyone up for cakes? :D
