  • Yelp Helps! brought me here for the first time, and it was an amazing--and eye opening--experience. Having taken the light rail to work downtown for several years, I've seen first-hand the homeless population. It has always made me hope more could be done to assist them with a good quality of life. However, I wasn't aware just a few blocks away from the downtown office tower where I spend the majority of my life was this wonderful place doing so much good! Until today. This was the second volunteering event I've attended through Yelp. I love the idea of using Yelp to educate us about the importance of giving back to our community, outside of being a useful tool to find the best sushi or bacon recipes in town. After an informative orientation, we were led to the basement to sort clothing that would soon be selected by a person in need. Their operation was fantastic, from sorting clothes and shoes to sizing them and organizing what will best be useful. Truly a humbling experience. And a personally rewarding one, as well.
