| - This hotel deserves the one star for the location. Otherwise, I'd say it's a zero star hotel.
1) We had to call housekeeping a couple of times for towels. They cleaned the room but didn't leave towels.
2) Pool is awful. AWFUL
3) Two ladies dragging two huge suitcases, at least four bell hops standing around, not one opened the door to let us in the hotel.
4) Service staff is less than helpful
AND HERE'S THE BIG ONE!
We checked in on a Thursday. On Saturday, I was in the restroom when all of a sudden water starts pouring onto my head from the ceiling!! We call the front desk and they send up the maintenance man. Before we know it, there's a HUGE hole in the ceiling. We are told the restroom is off limits. This is on Saturday and we are getting ready for dinner reservations and a concert, which was an impossible task since we now have two maintenance men in our room. We are told "thank goodness you guys have two rooms, so you have a bathroom available". Ummm........Four girls sharing one bathroom. Although it's possible to share the one bathroom, we PAID FOR TWO ROOMS so we didn't have to. This calls for a trip downstairs for a chat with the manager. We had to FIGHT to get Saturday night comped. At first they wanted to do NOTHING. Then they offered a meager discount, then a little larger discount until FINALLY after an exhausting conversation we got the room comped for one night.
We are then told the bathroom would not be fixed before we check out on Monday.
Second trip for a chat with the manager. He had the nerve to tell us that the room was still functional and he didn't need to make any further adjustments for us. We stand our ground. He offers to move us (It is now Sunday night) Four girls need to pack ALL their stuff for one night. If he had offered that on Saturday including the one night comped, we'd have been happy. But to move for less than 24 hours is ridiculous. FINALLY, after another exhausting and long conversation, we get offered 50% off our Sunday night. We accept only because we've already wasted so much time.
If I'm paying for something, I expect to get the quality and experience that I'm paying for. Not a giant hole in the ceiling of my bathroom that I can't use for two days. I don't think the excuse that the room is "funtional" and since we have an adjoining room, we have an available bathroom is a valid reason to consider our situation acceptable. We were PAYING for both rooms. Never will stay here again. Management should have been proactive about contacting us to apologize for the situation. The manager never apologized for the inconvenience. He actually seemed a little irritated with us.
I'll stay in a hotel where the QUALITY of my stay is important to the property management. If i could, I'd post a picture of the giant hole.
