  • My family (with young children) went to Axe Monkeys in July 2017, and we all loved tossing axes! Axe Monkeys is located just east of McCarren airport in Las Vegas. The location sells shirts, hats, glasses, drinks, and snacks. They also do knife throwing and ninja star throwing. The staff were all great. Jared was especially helpful and friendly, and made the experience even more fun. We got two lanes for two hours and some prize boxes to smash at the end of our allotted time. The adventure began with Jarod explaining the safety rules and showing us all how to properly throw an axe. After she explained and demonstrated the proper techniques he stayed around a while to make we got the hang of it. The first time you hit the center of the bullseye, you get to ring the bell! after about 30 minutes my 12 year old Daughter was still having a little trouble making the axe stick. Jared saw this, came over and gave her some personalized training. Within a few minutes she was sticking the axe and had a giant smile. Thank you again Jared. Afterward my wife said she was a little apprehensive about the kids throwing axes. But after the safety briefing and excellent instruction she soon realized this activity was perfectly safe for the children and she began having a great time. The smash boxes are a few extra dollars per person. The staff will hang the boxes on our target. When you smash the box with your axe you get the prize inside. The prizes were great. We won a free zipline experience from Flightlinez, 2 show tickets to Anthony Cools hypnosis show, one hour of unlimited games at Gameworks, and a candy bar. The prize values was significantly more than what we paid for the axe throwing experience. My entire family, kids 10 and 12 loved our time throwing axes. The kids didn't want to stop. As we were leaving the kids asked if we could come back next time we visit Vegas. Yes, definitely! This is a great place for groups, team building, date night, etc. Can't wait to do it again!
