  • Yes, this company is running a total scam as every other review has said. I too bought a Groupon for duct cleaning from a company called "Max Air Services LLC" - They said they operated within my local UTAH area code, so I thought they were a local company. I also did some research on Max Air before purchasing the Groupon and they had pretty good reviews on the BBB and HomeAdvisor so I thought I was getting a good deal. Red Flag #1 - I had to call a toll free number to schedule my appointment and when I told the lady on the phone what my city and zip code was, she seemed confused like she'd never heard of it before... strange for someone who was supposed to be from a local company.. but, oh well, I still scheduled the appointment for 3 weeks out. Red Flag #2 - 3 days before my appointment, I get a call from the Arizona 480 number telling me that the technician from Max Air Services was unavailable and that they had given my account to a different company, US Air Services. When I asked the woman to repeat the name of the new company, she mumbled it, probably because she didn't want me to Google the name. I asked her why she was calling me from Arizona if I was getting services from a Utah company and she said something about being a call center for various vent cleaning companies, but was NOT very convincing. Red Flag #3 - She wanted to schedule my new appointment for ANOTHER 3 weeks out. 6 Weeks from when I originally purchased the Groupon. I told her that I was unhappy about that and she asked if I wanted her manager to call me back. I said yes but never received a call from the manager. So, after stewing for a couple of days, I googled the phone number and found US Air Services and all the awful reviews. Needless to say I immediately contacted Groupon who gave me a refund on my deal (The customer service at Groupon was amazing but they should really be more careful about the companies they partner with). Then, I called US Air Services back and told them I wanted to cancel my appointment. I could hear two women whispering on the phone about me while they "looked up my account," but luckily they didn't put up a fuss about canceling the appointment. BOTTOM LINE: It seems this company is operating under various shell companies in order to seem "local" and to prevent you from seeing all the bad reviews for US Air Services. I hope I don't have any problems with this company in the future since I was dumb enough to think I was hiring local and gave them my home address and phone number. Oh, well, you live and learn.
