I recall a time when Don and Charlies was a great restaurant. The food was marvelous. They used to give a salad and serve chopped liver with every meal. Now the food is not as good as it used to be. Also, the servers ask if you want to upgrade to this or that. A salad is an "upgrade." The chopped liver must be purchased as an appetizer. When you go to a restaurant, you should not be asked if you want to upgrade as if your going from coach to first class, unless of course, it wants the customer to perceive its food as Coach class or average. The restaurant needs to change the way it talks to the customers and get back to serving quality food like they used to. No one needs to go to a restaurant and be forced to choose between and an expensive meal that is average and a more expensive meal that is a little better than average. The management has taken the joy of dining out at Don and Charlies.
