I'm 55 and live with my 78 year old mom in Michigan. We love all kinds of music but we both especially love Rod Stewart when he sings the American Songbook music like, I'll be Seeing You, Embraceable You, Someone to Watch Over Me, etc... I've never been to Las Vegas so I went whole hog and purchased first class tickets on Delta, got us a room at Bally's on the strip and got us front row (sorta) center seats at The Colosseum to see Rod Stewart sing those beautiful songs.
I thought The Colosseum was beautiful, huge, well-laid out and the check in time was a breeze. Our seats were very comfortable. I was married to a musician for 11 years so I appreciate good musicians and I thought the band rocked. I loved the backup singers and the women that played the violin's and harp.
Rod Stewart was adorable and his voice was in fine form. We never heard one American Songbook song, LOL but we loved the show! Let's keep this in perspective, Rod Stewart is 71 years old and for that age he put on one hell of a show. I loved all the background changes and Rod kept things alive by dropping balloons and kicking autographed soccer balls into the audience.
The audience had a great synergy with standing, dancing and singing along to almost every song. We all went nuts when he started to sing Maggie May.
I forked over a crazy sum of $480.00 each for our tickets. I bought them from a broker. Since mom is 78 and this was a tough trip for her due to her arthritis I doubt we will be returning soon so I consider it all money well spent and thank Rod for the good time.
