I was not looking forward to visiting Flamingo Surgical Center because my doctor told me to check in at 7:30 am for a procedure at 9:30 am. And I hate to wait! And there was a large crowd of people in the waiting room even that early. So to my surprise, the staff checked me in within 15 minutes of my arrival, and I was taken to pre-op by 8 am. The staff was both professional and kind One of the nurses even brought me a dryer warmed blanket because it was a cold morning in Vegas. Slippers for my feet and an idiot cap for my head kept me comfy until they wheeled me in to see my doctor, the anesthesiologist and a student doctor, all of whom promised to take good care of me. When I awoke in recovery, it was to the soothing news from my RN that "it" was over and everything had gone well. So when I looked at the time when they wheeled me out to my ride, I was surprised to see the time was 9:36 am. So the policy seems to be "first come, first served." How refreshing to find medical care that is caring and doesn't keep you waiting. And the staff called me the next day to make sure I wasn't having any problems.
