| - Met up with a large group of friends here. Originally we expected 15 but our group grew to well over 20. The staff did a nice job of adding some extra tables to accommodate the increase. It was a little hectic at first getting everyone situated then explaining they would be offering us a tasting menu that would run about $50/pp. Eventually the group agreed and settled in for a delicious meal.
They started us off with an appetizer trio of Edaname, green bean tempura, and Shishito (grilled peppers). Very well done. Next came out some small plate items of Tuna tataki, rock shrimp tempura (yummy), calimari, and poke tacos which were delicious. Next came chicken teriyaki, ribeye tobanyaki, and a mushroom tobanyaki. The flavors in those 3 items were so good. Very impressive.
Last was some sushi rolls, a spicy tuna, tempura shrimp, and a whitefish of some sort. These were not impressive and thus the reason for the -1 star. I was expecting some out of this world sushi and it didn't happen.
Overall, a good night with some good friends and a bunch of laughs, drama, and drunken tomfoolery. I will return here sometime, although there are so many places in the Venetian/Palazzio that I haven't tried so will do those first.
