  • I'd been wanting to try this buffet for a couple years, since I'd heard it was widely considered the best Vegas buffet, where these days Vegas buffets just don't don't seem to be trying anymore - finally got around to it for brunch on Sunday a couple weeks ago. I will say, I'm not *totally* convinced it would have been worth the full weekend price, and will admit that I got a 2-for-1 coupon for getting status at Cosmopolitan after eating at e last year, which made it significantly more reasonably priced (and after also applying my Cosmopolitan points from all the drinking I did the previous day, an outright steal). It's at least arguably worth it, though. I will also note that we got down a few minutes after 11, waited about 40 minutes, and by the time we were seated, the line looked probably twice as long as when we arrived - not sure it'd be worth waiting over an hour for, either (unless of course you can sucker a friend into waiting while you go enjoy a nearby bar), so getting here early would be recommended, especially on weekends. All that said, yes, I absolutely enjoyed almost all the food, and there was quite a lot of it. I especially wanted to give a shout-out to the like half-dozen very different types of pasta, which were all equally fantastic, as well as their roast beef, which I'm *very* picky about, and theirs was quite possibly the best I'd had, ever. But almost everything else there, across all the different regions of breakfast and lunch food, was also excellent - including a massive array of fantastic pastries and other desserts, which also included a number of interesting gelato flavors of reasonably high quality (it wasn't quite as good as Florence, but that's a pretty high bar). There were just a couple notable exceptions preventing it from reaching perfection: 1. The juice was clearly not fresh-squeezed. I ordered a pineapple juice, which was ok, but nothing special, so I was happy to see they also had glasses of POG juice out for us to grab. The glass I got was *super* watery. Like, undrinkably watery. 2. Their sushi was pretty much your average Vegas buffet sushi, which is to say, decent but not super-impressive cuts of fish, on top of dry, overly-vinegary rice, and way too much of it. I suppose I shouldn't have been too surprised, but everything else was of such high quality that I really was. The sushi was several steps below mediocre (again, mostly due to the rice). I definitely did love the individual plating of food - partially because it's so cute, but mostly because most of the plates *stack* really nicely, so you can grab a bunch of things without having the usual problem at buffets, of different dishes that don't really go together, mixing together on your plate. Was just too bad they only did that for like half the options they had out. Service was... ok. The initial glass of juice arrived quickly, and plates always disappeared pretty immediately, but when I ordered coffee to go with dessert (a few minutes before I was going to get dessert, so I thought I'd have time), I had to flag someone down like 10 minutes later to ask for it again, and still didn't get it until I was mostly done And yes, they did have bone marrow for brunch when I was there... I was looking forward to try it, as everyone raved about it and I had really no idea what it tasted like. Now that I've had it, I can't really say I see the appeal - it just tasted like salty fat. But if you like bone marrow, yes, they do have it, or at least they did when I was there.
