| - The Parlor is one of Phoenix's best restaurants, it's a bit of sleeper when it comes to people knowing about it. It's easy to drive by it and you'd never know it was there... Speakeasy rules is what I maintain for this place, I only recommend it to friends who can truly appreciate great food.
Why go there:
We don't give out 5 stars lightly. The Parlor on multiple visits has never failed us though. It's a great go to when we have friends from out of town visit. It's a busy place, not far from the Biltmore where restaurants are plenty and feel like they can charge a fortune, the Parlor delivers on value from their open kitchen and relaxed vibe. It's a bit loud in there, but it's just because it's always busy. Their pizzas are fun to craft your way. If you know food you will have fun with that. Their menu changes seasonally and the specials always come through as fresh and relevant. All pastas are house made, which that alone should draw any foodie in Phoenix to this place. It's an unpretentious establishment that execute well, from hostess to waiters, every interaction you have there should be great.
Don't miss:
The duck club is a staple on their menu, I ask for it to be put on a custom pizza... They might charge you $4 for the addition, but it's worth it! Duck on a pizza? Throw in some garlic, tarragon and ricotta and you will be amazed. Go for whatever appetizer special they have going on, as well as a main. Their Yukon Gold pizza is fragrant and well designed, the oxtail ravioli is also out of this world. Notice some of these are unconventional offerings, which is why The Parlor is fun to go to.
Tip:
Have cash on you, you'll have to valet, don't drive too fast on Camelback rd or you will drive right past it. This place is a hidden gem, almost literally. Grab a drink from the bar as you wait for your table, it's usually a good wait but worth it.
