The Great Dane gets a solid OK. It's consistently OK. It's also open Sunday night - a plus. You can get the burgers with local beef or bison for an up charge.
We had the special - a Chicken Cordon Bleu (sort of). The ham and cheese were laid on top of a thinly pounded deep fried chicken breast, smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce. It was tasty - but not really a Chicken Cordon Bleu.
Also had the Chicken Salad sandwich. It came on a croissant. Companion said it could have used grapes or walnuts.
One of the best sides is the fried plantains. But there are a number of sides to choose from - green beens, apple sauce, cold veggies, and fries.
The Great Dane is consistent and you can usually get a table in the seat yourself back bar pretty quickly. There is a more formal dining service up front - both seating areas have the same menu.
