| - I am going to be complete honest and as straightforward as possible about this company, because I believe it's the fair way to go.
Quote and sign up: we got a super cheap quote for our move. I explained to him about our previous bad experience with a different moving company and gave him info on what time frame we needed our belongings by and he said "No problem" Fortunately for us, we had moved cross country previously and had a fairly accurate inventory and pricing list from before. I explained to the sales person that I wasn't as concerned about the lowest price as I was about an accurate price. We did end up going back and forth a few times through email about having the correct inventory. Eventually the price was around $1000 higher (which was fine by me). My suggestion is absolutely write your own inventory. Make it as accurate as possible. And before signing really check to see if it was correctly imputed. This is where our biggest issue was as far as the quoting. Our salesperson didn't have the greatest attention to detail, but he was super patient and nice. Try to even overestimate if you can. They have an automated system to determine pounds and ft, so you won't be able to determine your own weight.
The in betweens: my husband was called into work about a week earlier than expected at his new job, so we had to bump our ticket up. I called and spoke with Danielle about getting our pickup a few days earlier. She was super sweet and awesome and arranged everything quickly and smoothly. There is a downfall. Getting our things picked up earlier may have actually extended our drop off time (the exact opposite of my intention) because now we became the first to be loaded, which means we'd be the last to be unloaded. Sucks for us only because my husbands mom is coming all the way from Japan to see the baby for the first time and we won't have the ability to make her comfortable in our new home, but at the same time, everyone else wants their stuff too, so it is what it is.
The pickup: the move went great. The movers were absolutely polite, sweet, professional and kind. We pack pretty much everything before they came and had it all sitting in one area to try to make it easier for them. Our mistake was hubby accidentally packed the money to pay away and we didn't find out until after our stuff was all loaded. That was totally all our mistake. Luckily we had the same bank as the owner and with a little time were able to transfer the funds. I just felt bad for having to make the guys wait around because of our hiccup. We did find that because of what I mentioned before about bumping up the move and the driver telling us his route that there was no way possible to actually get our things around the time that was initially discussed, but by the time he told us, our things were already loaded, so there wasn't much we could
do.
The check in: around 10 days after our pick up we called our driver to see how things were going and to confirm the tentative date we had. He explained things were going a little slower than expected and gave us a new date, but said he wasn't sure and that he was asked to let us know to call into the office to get a more accurate date. I will admit I was irritated at this point. Not at the driver, as he's working hard, but more at the fact that I had thoroughly explained our really horrible experience with the previous moving company, and though I know an exact date isn't easy to say, but I was given dates by the initial salesperson, different dates by our driver and now upon calling a separate date by dispatch. Without going into too much detail lets just say the initial conversations was less than pleasant. I called back and the owner was absolutely AWESOME.
I have not received my things but I will update once I do. Though there were hiccups on both parts, I felt overall, the experience was good. I want to again thank the owner for being so kind and appreciative and for his exceptional service. I'd also like to thank our mover and drivers.
