A cozy jazz bar in an unassuming location in downtown Toronto. The one thing I love about traveling is finding gems like this - specifically jazz lounge gems. We are at a loss for this experience in ROC so it's a treat to experience the house band underground jazz scene when trekking to new cities (literally very basement-like with brick and black walls).
The drinks are strong and the music robust. You can find a nook to nestle into here and enjoy the experience however you like. I like a good view of the band but out of the way of the dancers which usually means to the left or right of the stage. We were there on a Tuesday night when Tyler Yerema was playing piano with his band. I love a good jazz trumpet, and bonus! they had a lady friend hop on stage to sing some great tunes too.
The dancers are fun to watch and some get realllly into it, writhing in a drunken stupor. They have a little area to the left of the stage that the dancers dominated, invoking jealousy with their rhythm. Give it a whirl! The place is worth visiting.
