| - I'll give Shane Co. that their customer service is excellent (which is the ONLY reason they are getting any stars to begin with...) but for a place that prides themselves on craftsmanship I have been thoroughly disappointed. Yes, the insurance policy is a great aspect of their customer service but it should not be something that has to be relied upon often. Within the first day of having a ring from them a small diamond fell out, I figured no biggie it happens, and thankfully covered under warranty. 9 months pass another small diamond falls out once again not worrying too much about it.... another 9months pass and a bigger diamond falls out, I go in with my husband asking if there is another setting that would be better suited in the prevention of this issue, I was reassured that "the integrity of the ring was sound," "no reason to change the setting" but to put me at ease they would double check EVERY prong. Honestly, my irritation and distrust probably wouldn't be so strong but the fact the matter is I've had my ring back LESS THAN a week and now my largest diamond has fallen out. I am not rough on my rings, it's not like I am rock climbing with it on, in fact don't even wear it in the shower, everyone I have talked to has said this should not be happening, and I have to agree.
Frankly, Shane Co. is lucky it was an heirloom diamond that had fallen out, otherwise we might not have been so diligent to retrace all our steps, or convince the restaurant manager to let us in after closing to search on our hands and knees for it, they'd be footing the bill to replace the diamond.
Instead after this last "fix" that was "guaranteed to be sound" they've lost our business along with ANYONE else who cares to listen.
