  • I have such fond memories of this park. There was a time when Beach Volleyball was the in thing, and this was part of the AVP tour - in the middle of May! Only the crazy and die hard fans would be out there in the sweltering heat. My friends and I loved every minute of it. The Beach Volleyball greats used to play here in professional competition. Now, except for the occasional concert (Oktoberfest), and other events (Ironman Competition); the only time that I / we actually come here is for Pokemining. And that even isn't as good as Riparian Preserve, Hayden Buttes, or leaving town and/or the state altogether for larger bodies of water. I know that there is still a fair amount traffic that traverses and enjoys this park. It just doesn't have quite the allure that it once had with me.
