Dovercourt Park is the little park that could, especially considering that it's just a short walk to the much larger Christie Pitts. But still, if you live in the neighborhood, this park is a lovely little green escape.
The park is faced by houses on all sides and also backs onto the Boys and Girls Club. So there are always lots of local kids and dogs with their owners running around having a good time. There are a limited number of benches flanking the bike path that runs through the park, but if you bring a blanket there are plenty of grassy stretches under trees where you can sit down and read your book.
A small baseball diamond rounds out the southwest corner of the park, and opposite it on the southeast corner are a few small pieces of playground equipment. The northeast corner features tennis courts and a basketball hoop.
