| - Galaxy Cannery, located inside Cannery Casino, is pretty awesome. Hubby and I stopped by here for a late night movie. You can purchase tickets online and pick out the seats you'd like. If you buy tickets online instead of at the box office they currently charge a $2.50 fee, but it's worth it if the movie is expected to be busy when it first starts showing and you want to get decent seats. The evening price per ticket was $11.25 which isn't bad considering what theaters without reclining seats are charging. Yep, they have reclining seats here :)
The snack bar has the usual high prices when it comes to popcorn, candy and soda. When it comes to the hot dogs and sausages though the prices are very fair. The menu says they have Vienna Beef (comes in regular or foot-long size), Smoked Cheddar, Bratwurst and Italian, but they said they only had the Vienna available. Regular size is $6.75 and if you want the foot-long it's just an extra $1 more and toppings are free. When I say toppings are free, I don't mean just mustard and ketchup. I'm talking avocado, shredded cheese, nacho cheese, spicy mustard and bacon just to name some of the 20-ish toppings on the menu. The guy working was friendly and asked if hubby and I wanted the hot dog cut in half and since we were sharing I really appreciated his offering to do that. I did enjoy the taste of the soft bun and toppings and the hot dog tasted okay. For drinks they offer beer, wine, champagne, soda and bottled water.
Inside the theater was clean and the reclining seats were comfy. Hubby thought the temp inside was comfortably cool and I was freezing. I had this problem at Galaxy Green Valley also, so I need to just remember to bring a blanket with me on future visits. There is a table attached to the seats that swings around and it was spacious enough to put our hot dog and candy on. The sound wasn't too loud and with nothing blocking my view I was able to recline and enjoy the show.
On my way out I stopped at the bathroom and really has to look for a stall that looked clean enough to use. The floors and sinks were spotless and it even smelled fresh in there, but I have no idea how often the toilet areas are cleaned because they weren't so clean.
