You always worry when the folks that make a restaurant great up and leave to start another place. There's always something that seems to get lost in the original chemistry of their first place. Also, when you're faced with the old place that they left and the new place they've started, loyalty really gets you into bother and you hate playing favourites.
The folks that started up Jason George (named after the owner's son I believe) also seemed to ensure that they kept the initials from the place they left, the Jersey Giant (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/the-jersey-giant-toronto). This is a pub that I've been in since it opened and always have fun there. A small patio outside is great in the summer and the booths at the side and rear of the place are intimate enough for quiet conversation. It also seems that whenever I'm there, Paul the bartender is as well. This then typically becomes a session night where the one you came in for becomes harder and harder to find as the minutes pass.
Recommended are the burgers, the curry, and the beer. I hate nasty break-ups but this place appears to have survived nicely.
