| - These folks are very, very good at what they do. You already will be in the hole on the way down to the dealership if you fail to do your previous preparation and research. To approximate Sun Tzu: "The best victory is when the opponent surrenders [his/her own Accord] before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting."
This is but one of the tenets of the cutthroat car sales industry. Especially in these trying times, where people are keeping their cars longer and opting for purchase instead of leasing, the hustle is not only alive and well but extremely strong at Courtesy Imports. Why do I give props and stars? Because, as the buyer, any missteps were my fault. My Greed and Lust got in the way of Proper Procedure. In your time here or at any other dealership, you must be prepared.
When going in for service, do not wander the lot. This is the honey trap where many have fallen. Bring a jaded, ovulating companion to kick some sense into you. Leave your wallet at home, bring only a photocopy of your license. Come hungry, so you will leave immediately and not fall for the "I'll kick it to my sales manager" song and dance.
To their credit, they WILL get you financed even if it means going upside down for the rest of your life. They will be tenacious and will not let you leave the foyer, where there will be different, sexy new models on display. You will lust for leather and AUX jacks. They will distract you during the test drive, turn up the stereo, and tell you that "oh yeah, don't worry, the batteries ALWAYS die right before you try to start the car....that's VEGAS HEAT for ya!"
Keep your wits about you, stay strong, and always be several moves ahead. Visit www.edmunds.com; they have invaluable articles there on doing the due diligence and not getting raped at the dealership.
Again, to their credit the Mitsubishi and Mazda selection here is better than Centennial...I've had service done there as well and it's not worth the trouble.
Three stars because they are good. Like Chili Palmer.
