The layout for this mall is so confusing. No matter how many times I visit I always get lost. For example, this time around I wanted to go to Paris Baguette and Royce. Even with the GGP app as a guide, I still walked around in a semi circle even though it's pretty much a straight side shot across the mall. The canal running throughout the mall & the gawking faux skyline throws off my sense of direction.
Can't complain though since it's nicely air conditioned. I like that they added some mid-range, affordable stores to the mix whereas in the past it was mostly high-end luxury stores. My favorite stores are Basin White, Paris Baguette & Royce.
The Nevada Tax Rate is 8.25% vs. Oahu's Tax Rate of 4.712% so luxury goods would be a better value for me at home. I am the complete opposite of high-end but it is something to consider; those taxes adds up.
If you want to go on the gondola ride you can do the indoor version at this mall. Where else but Vegas if you can't travel halfway across the world to do the real deal?
There is a small food court that had an Indian curry place I wanted to try but there's only so many meals I can eat in my allotted visit so I hope they're still there next time; their reviews are looking like a mixed bag right now :(
Other places of note:
Honolulu Cookie Company is upstairs closer to the Palazzo. Good to see the 808 represent.
Bouchon Bakery & Bouchon the restaurant is at The Venetian Hotel & Casino. The Palazzo, The Grand Canal Shoppes & The Venetian are all seamlessly connected, so you might have to do some recon to find some of the shops & eateries. Good luck because some of them are hard to find if you've never been here before.
The Grand Canal Shoppes is also a nice mall for some interesting photo ops. Uploading pics if you wanna skim thru.
