Ive been renting a 1 bedroom condo for about 8 months now. I haven't had any problems with the HOA however it would be nice for them to ease up on the rules and let us make these places our own. All I want to do is hang string lights on the patio I haven't use geez!!! I agree with the walls between the units being thick. My first floor neighbor gets random urges to deep clean her condo and when she does she blasts the music but I only hear the music when her front door is open. As soon as she closes it it's silent (like that scene from Ace Ventura where de demonstrates the sound proof bullet proof glass). HOWEVER I wish I could say the same about the people above me. I...hear...everything! Sounds like a damn heard of gorillas up there! Another complaint is the sliding glass door to the patio in the master bedroom. The door is quiet big thus allowing so much light in at night from the light poles even with light blocking curtains. My unit has a light pole right by the sliding door so it was a struggle to sleep when I first moved in. You should see what I've rigged up to block the light. Like others have mentioned, dogs do walk around unleashed which is super unsafe. The sidewalks are very slippery when wet. They water the grass at the weirdest times. The gym room is so hot inside despite them just renovating it. This complex is definitely more for the older crowd, I'm 29 and hardly see people under the age of 50. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves but are nice when you do interact.
