  • Balzac's Coffee Roastery located in the Distillery District is a pleasant surprise and an excellent compliment to a nice stroll through the area. Coffee and baked goods are fantastic. I was lucky enough to come in the morning and experience the coffee roasting. The delicious coffee aroma filled the air and added an extra element to my visit. The owner was very nice and she was happy to show me around to the coffee roaster and explain how they work. The coffee here is fantastic and very fresh. Great organic blends and awesome baked goods to compliment their fresh coffee. I like to grab a sofa in the loft upstairs. This place is very welcoming and not at all pretentious like some other coffee shops. The staff are very nice and helpful. In the summer there is also a patio which is always a plus. Overall, this is a great place to stop for coffee and a treat in this area. Located in an amazing historic building this place is not only delicious but very comfortable and charming. Recommend it to anyone who enjoys coffee but this place really shines with their location and decor.
