| - This place, Just your typical pub with a few televisions, diverse food and drink. I would say that this place is as good as any typical "pub" to catch the game, meet up with friends or get cheap wings on wednesday.
The wings are actually very decent for the price (10 cent on wednesday) though like any cheap wings don't expect them to be anything super special and try not to think of all the poor chickens that grew up stuffed in a cage in a gigantic metal barn just praying for the day of their death. Its sounds gruesome, but thats the only way 10 cent wings can exist :s
The service here is like most pubs, average. Everything was just fine I cant complain! the decor here is slightly higher end, just a little more of a classy look which I like.
One thing I have to slam them on is their fish n chips oh BEWARE!!!. Some time last year I came here on a friday and ordered the fish n chips (which were on special) when they arrived everything appeared to be ok, but as I started to eat the fish I noticed a strange taste... Now before I go on this taste was NOT rotten fish, it was something else..
I recognized it instantly, the fish came from thailand, from one of those fish farms. Its commonly known as bassa fish and basically it has a tendency to taste like lake erie... hahaha, that musty, dead plant matter taste. I found out before that bassa fish from thailand is grown in sometimes dirty swampy water, and thus, thats what they end up tasting like !!! So yeah I hope by now they have changed the bassa out for haddock or cod, but I certainly wont be trying the fish n chips at darby arms ever again! these types of corners should not be cut! Yuck
In their defense everything else I have eaten hear has been pretty decent, so I give it a 3, fair is fair! next time you are around here and need to find a local watering hole you might just wanna check it out!!
