| - We decided to go to Playdium after the 7.30 Medieval Times show. I guess we were pretty pumped! We arrived there around 10pm.
It was a fairly last minute decision, so we didn't have time to review deals before going. Thankfully, they have several "packages" available.
The one we went with was a special: 220 credits for 30$. We then bought two bumper car tickets for 6$, as it was a "special" price. For 30$, you usually only get 200 credits. It was like 18$ each.
Credits allow you to "purchase" time on games. You can even share the card and play two player games. Games cost anywhere between 1 to 8 credits. Some games give you tickets, that you can cash in for toys (cheapest was 45 tickets, most expensive, 120 000 tickets).
Non-ticket giving games include shooting games, hunting games, racing games, and a "game" that allows you to simulate being the pinball in a pinball machine (amongst others).
You should really scope out the place before dumping your creds. There are booths that cost extra too, like the Hurricane simulation booth (2$). So keep cash on hand if you want to try those.
My partner and I spent most of our credits on a pirate adventure. This was probably by far the most exciting of the two player games. Another we did was a hunting simulation. Rules of the game are unclear, and sometimes even how to get started. There is nothing more frustrating then spending your creds on something that ends within 20 seconds because you didn't know what to do.
The next fun game was the "simulation" game. The two sit in these chairs that rock and go up and down based on the "ride" your own. My ride with my friend was a haunted mine, and my partner and our other friend did the pinball machine. I loved seeing the expression on their faces, and I would say it was worth the 8 credits (which is for both of you).
This place is open until 1am on Saturdays. We saw little kids there until the end! Food closes around 11pm (and that's when the bumper cars opened for about an hour).
The bumper car "ride" lasted about 5 minutes, and because we were just us 4 in them, about 6 of the "cars" were off to the side (but still in our ring) and took away from some of the fun. But I'm glad we tried it, I enjoyed making myself spin in place.
All in all, if you don't mind the noise and the overpriced food, I think you can have a good time here. I would try to avoid bringing kids, because you'll be spending waaaay to much.
