  • I attended a Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking convention / event yesterday at this Center located in (old, rundown) downtown Mesa. The staff was courteous and accommodating. Everything was clean: inside, outside, restrooms. I also appreciate the Purell stand ;) The building was on the chilly side and it's not good for the body to go from freezing inside to very warm (90+ degrees) outside when you leave for home after a few hours indoors, which is part of the reason I didn't stay at the event longer- even after I was done browsing / shopping, I could've stayed a little longer to see whether I won a raffle prize or to mingle with fellow attendees more. I didn't want to risk getting sick (i.e. sniffles). So, hey, turn it down a notch please- some people even had sweaters on and who wants to look at a sweater during the month of May here? I was smart enough to pick an outfit to befit the day's atmosphere. Lunch at a small concession on the same floor was a lunch portion in that it's just for refueling, especially since I traveled all the way from north central Phoenix. I had a standard medium tuna sandwich w/ lettuce & tomatoes (and plenty of condiments) on rye bread with my own water bottle and I did get full. Happily, the caterers wore gloves. There were no tables to eat on and very few chairs. Big parking lot to park for free, with a golf cart service to take you to / from your vehicles. Thanks for the fun! There is an annual rubber stamp event at the Center for Spring & Fall, and I may be back for this- in the Fall. See you there :)
