Man ikea, am I mad at you.
This was actually the first time I made a big purchase here. Every other time has been a browsing day where I maybe bought a pillow or a small chair.
I came here with exactly what I wanted already picked out and ready for the first employee to ask. So I told this helpful looking gentleman that I wanted a Queen sized bed-frame and the corresponding headboard, which he then ordered from the warehouse across the street and we drove over to get it. I gave the next guy my paper and he helped us load everything in to the car. A pretty seamless day if you ask me. UNTIL...we got home and realized they gave us a full sized bed-frame instead of the Queen. No big deal right? We just run right up there and exchange it. Maybe I should have specified that we live in Cleveland...
Even at this point I wasn't all that mad. However, after spending an hour and 1/2 on hold with customer service trying to fix this issue and never even talking to a human, I was beyond livid. That's what they count on. That you will spend all that time on the phone and give up. Well congratulations Ikea, I gave up and we set up the stupid full sized bed anyway. There was no way in hell I was driving another 4 hours without even talking to someone. Who knows if I would have gotten a discount or had to pay the extra $50 for the right sized bed. Sure, we probably should have checked our order before we drove all the way home, but still.
