  • Home of the flying chicken (aka delicious chicken to go that they bring out to your car)! I have been a Bandera fan for as long as I can remember. Everything on their menu is tasty and high quality. Most frequently my family and I ordered to go; we ordered ribs, chicken, house salad with cornbread croutons, a burger, and fries with spicy mayo (don't forget the spicy mayo). Ordering to pick up could not be easier, you call and order and then they bring your food and bill out to your vehicle. Oh and let me tell you, every single time the order is correct! Once we got our food home it was still warm and ready to eat. Oh my gosh, the ribs were absolutely incredible! The sauce and the temp that they cook them in are something special. The chicken was juicy and had wonderful flavor, and the burger was cooked perfectly. The house salad is a decent salad on its own, but when you add the dressing and cornbread croutons it is taken to another level; so yummy! The only thing that wasn't up to par were the fries; they were seasoned well, but were not fully cooked which was a disappointment. If to go isn't your thing you are in luck, the restaurant itself is lovely. It is in the heart of old town and has a traditional and comfortable atmosphere. Just make sure to call for a reservation or get there early, because it is a popular place. The best thing about dining in is the way it smells...heavenly! Bandera has incredible food, top notch service, and great ambiance. I'll be back again and again and again.
