Furikake poke!! I could eat this all day and not get fat! I was full of this stuff as it was the first thing served.
I've been wanting to come here for years! We ordered two mixed plates. One with furikake chicken and Kalua pig & Cabbage. The other with kalbi short ribs and chopped steak and onions.
After staring at photos of furikake chicken for years, my dream came true and was able to try it. Honestly, was a bit diappointed in the taste which is like something you get a Chinese restaurant without the furikake. The Kalua pig and cabbage lacked the saltiness and smoked flavor you typically get. So, that was diappointing as well. The portions weren't a disappointment. Large enough to feed 2 people with mac salad. Can't believe I almost finished my plate. Oink..
The kalbi short ribs were just like most. Good but not great. The chopped steak was decent and had a slight sweetness to it (sugar).
Wish I had space or made space for desserts. The guava and chantilly cakes looked pretty good.
Service here was just average and appeared shorthanded on a busy Sunday afternoon.
I'll stick to Aloha Specialties next time for my garlic chicken.
