  • I chose Riley's from the great reviews I read on yelp about cleanliness and sanitary conditions, and awesome services. My experience was nothing like any of the reviews. I called ahead and asked if they take walk-ins. When I arrived, I was greeted kindly and sat right away. I went to use the restroom and noticed the place is not too clean like reviews said. They are going through remodeling right now, but I'm talking just nail salon dirty. There was half eaten food sitting out near the bathroom, the bathroom smelled of sewage after the toilet flushed, and there were nail bits on the floor even though there was no other customers in the salon. I tried to think nothing of it. The older guy doing my nails did not ask me what I wanted, but I figured he was just quiet so I mentioned a few times about the shape and style I was looking for: narrow, almond shape, natural looking. When I would point something out about they way the looked as he was doing my nails, he would mumble he will fix it, and it seemed as though he was because he went over the spot again with a nail file. I didn't want to seem like I was telling him how to do his job, and in my head I assumed they would turn out great. When I went to pay, the other guy that was there told me what they charge for very quickly. The only thing I heard was $23 for new set......$5 for shape.....total $48. (Not an extremely outrageous price) I asked him what I was being charged for again and asked why they are charging for the shape of the nail? He said that was there policy. I asked why the man doing my nails did not tell me any of the other charges. He said usually their customers know and are aware. I handed him my card, signed, and left. I was driving through the parking lot and looked at my nails over my steering wheel. OH MY GOD. They looked SO BAD. Not what I asked for at all. The red nail polish and the nail tip were SEE THROUGH. The nail tips were CROOKED. They were different lengths, bulgy and did not look at all like a licensed professional did them. I was absolutely shocked that they took advantage of me, maybe because I was not a regular customer. They were absolutely terrible. I thought of going back in and asking for them to fix it, but decided to cut my losses because I didn't want them to attempt to fix it. The next day, I went to a different nail salon to fix them. The woman laughed a little when she saw them. ~~~~~~ I will never go to Riley's nails again and I recommend that if anyone is looking to try out this salon, be very aware if they are listening to your requests. Ask questions about what they charge for BEFORE. Pay attention to how your nails look through out the process and be prepared to speak up. Do not assume they know what they are doing, or they will take advantage of you. Worst set of nails I have ever had.
