I have been lucky enough to listen to symphonies throughout the United States and the Cleveland symphony was quiet good. I had enormous expectations, since I hear the Cleveland symphony on the radio often. Everything was played well. I listened to two pieces by Hungarian composers and Beethoven's Emperor Concerto. Although everything was played well, it lacked a certain emotion. There weren't as many captivating musical dynamics that I expected from this highly rated symphony. Still, if you are visiting Cleveland then this is a must see. This is considered one of the best symphonies in the US and maybe the world. Severance hall is acoustically well built and the seating is arranged wonderfully. No matter where you sit the view and sound are fine. It is a rather small symphony hall, which I prefer.
