| - Back in July 2014 my husband and I went to the Happy Valley Room Store location, Tyler greeted us pleasantly and then helped us pick out furniture for our brand new house over $10,000.00 worth. Initially things went well and we were pleased. Things were delivered and set up when we were told they would be. That ends the happiness. Our new kitchen chairs immediately had problems, the rungs were cracked and broken on three of the chairs and the screws would not stay in the seat part, no matter what we did the screws would fall out and that was with minimal use as this table and chairs is in a dining room not used frequently. To make a very long story short, after 11 phone calls to customer service, being transferred to everyone but the person you are trying to talk to, no mangers available right now, supervisors not being in at the time, emails to Tanisha who is in the repairs department with pictures of the broken chairs by the way never responded to any of them 5 to be exact. Calls to the corporate office with not one person contacting me back, promises from random people that are parts were ordered and they would call us when they came in, Tyler getting involved to no avail ETC. NOW here we are May 2015, still have broken chairs, Rooms Store did call last week to say the parts were in..but scheduling was 2 to three weeks out. Ugh. I think this has been the worst experience of my life with a well know furniture store. The people we dealt with were unprofessional and rude. Done with the Room Store. If I could give them a negative rating I would. We ended up contacting the manufacturer directly and they have been wonderful, parts are ordered and they will be sending out a repair technician the DAY they come in! WOW! We did find out through the attorney Generals Office there are agencies designated out there to help people like us. Consumer Affairs, Consumer Protection Agency and even the Attorney Generals Office, Don't forget about the local media via news reporting agencies. We will be pursuing action through all of those avenues. Our chairs alone were almost $200.00 a piece..there has to be some kind of compensation or price reduction on broken merchandise. Bottom line..do not shop at Room Store they do NOT care about you after you spend your hard earned money there.
