  • My dog is a handful and has defeated two groomers and scared off a potential third. So I searched in yelp to find a good groomer who could cope with difficult dogs, and I found waaay beyond good when I found Best in Show. Corinne (not sure if I have that right) suggested we take Dudley in to meet them a few times before he came for grooming. She sat on the floor and let him go to her and he was comfortable with her immediately. One of her staff came in and sat on the floor too. They were so patient and so understanding. My dog was just fine with them, so they said he could come back the next week for his groom. By this time, my Golden/Cocker was SO knotted up, he was a nervous wreck. I couldn't put my hand on him without him flinching and he was antsy all the time because the knots were hurting. I was so desperate to get him pain-free that we even considered having a surgical groom where he'd be asleep. We dropped him off yesterday morning and he went in just fine. We waited all morning, waiting for the call we were expecting, to come get him because he wouldn't submit to the grooming, but they called and said he was all done. Amazing! It took two of them for this first time but we'll take him back regularly so he'll get more comfortable. Here's the kicker. My lovely dog is SO different. Yesterday his eyes were shining and he had that huge golden grin from ear to ear. He was at peace, he walked without pulling, he chilled out on the couch with us and was a different dog. To see your dog not in pain anymore is wonderful. I'm beyond grateful. Beyond beyond. Recommend highly. These people love dogs. Even really naughty ones.
