| - I had a Groupon for a "spa" manicure and pedicure. This is my first and last visit to this place. If I would have paid full price for the services, I would have been extremely upset.
The salon felt cramped and cluttered and a bit of a mess. I understand they are going for a kitschy feel, which if done right could be really neat, but this sad decor is in severe need of updating. As a first time customer, my impression was the place needed a major spring cleaning. The towels used were old, worn and off-colored from use (why would a salon use white towels?) As I was removing my shoes for the pedicure, I did not comfortable with placing my feet on the floor.
You could tell the polish selections were old. For my first selection, the technician watered it down with acetone to try and get it "unclumped." I went with another option. My manicure polish did not apply my better.
The products (lotions, scrubs, etc.) used for my mani/pedi were not salon quality. It was something I could have picked up at my local drugstore. And styrofoam packing pieces for toe separators?
The technician made little effort at making me feel comfortable or carry on a conversation. She had a runny nose (possible cold) and would go blow her nose, but I don't know that she ever washed her hands before returning. At one point, she wiped her nose on her arm.
