  • ARTSY FOOD, SURROUNDINGS, AND MOOD [Warning: visitor from Florida for short vacation] Its location among all the theaters definitely brings in the goers although the clientele appears to be the under-40yo crowd (fine by me). Sunday around 4pm still resulted in a 30 minute wait. MODERN RUSTIC VIBE With canning jars at the entrance, the flickering of 'chandeliers', as well as dark furnishings--Meat & Potatoes delivers a poshy yet rustic vibe that still fits well with this area of the 'Burgh. The outside seating is also a great place to people watch yet still tucked under the building's roof. GET READY FOR SOME FOOD CREATIVITY The appetizers already set the mood for the ride ahead. The Strip Tartare arrived with a smoked Egg--gooey, runny Yolk--the Tartare being soft and well-seasoned against the milder crunchy Bread. Their Brisket Mac & Cheese was an explosion of comfort food but kicked up with hints of Horseradish and Potato Chips. I was also surprised at their Ceasar Salad--loaded with Cheese but enhanced with a sunny Egg on top. And yes... besides combining flavors I often don't see elsewhere (yet make sense) the food tasted great!
