| - One More: I have now about 19 former patients that are willing to take legal action against Drs DeWolf and Doty. I will be sending out an e-mail to organize our efforts once I receive everyone's contact info. I have the following: Jason, Erika, Nancy, Christina, Noelle, Lily, Gina. I still need Millie, B.W., Meredith, Jeni, Marrissa, AoP, Ashley, Itzel, Tracie, Gina E., Jerry and Brittany. I've sent a note to the missing info. via Yelp. Once I get most of the info., I'll be sending out an invite near Desert Ridge so we can discuss our options. If you know others affected by the billing practices of AZ Body, please shoot me their contact info. @ dtlin1@yahoo.com. If you know former employees that weren't paid, I'll take their contacts as well. I want to show the AZ AG a "pattern of fraudulent conduct" and ask the AZ Chiropractic Board to suspend their licenses. Anyone know how to contact the local news outlets or has a friend that's a lawyer, please get them involved.
It seems that dozens of past customers have been shocked and outraged by the billing tactics from Dr DeWolf. Some have already reached out to me regarding legal action to stop this harassment. I encourage you all to reach out to others affected by this and e-mail me at dtlin1@yahoo.com. I'll provide my phone number and organize a meeting to discuss next steps. At a very minimum, you can all come to my hearing at the AZ Chiropractic Board, (not yet scheduled) to also voice your complaints. Perhaps her license can be suspended for her irresponsible behavior.
Another Update:
Just received Dr DeWolf's response to the AZ Attorney General. It was a bit comical and just will add fuel to the AZ Chiropractic Board Hearing. So my balance has mysteriously increased from $4K to $6K without explanation or even an updated statement. In the response, Dr DeWolf explains how she was the owner of AZ Body Mechanics for the last 10 years and anything Dr Doty said or promised in terms of payments or agreements doesn't matter. Dr DeWolf needs to brush up on her legal knowledge since she's completely wrong. Dr Doty was a representative of the company and had full responsibility in conducting business there. As such, anything promised by Dr Doty would stand up in a court of law. The AZ Attorney General mentioned if I wanted to pursue legal action against Dr DeWolf, I could hire a private attorney (I may go down this route). Not sure if this means they are not continuing their investigation, but I will call them to state my case where I believe insurance fraud, over billing, breach of contract and harassment are continuing with her practice. Lastly, the AZ AG mentioned that it will keep my complaint active to see if there is a pattern of abuse by Dr DeWolf. I strongly encourage all former patients to file their own complaints to the AZ Chiropractic Board and AZ AG. Again, for every complaint against Dr DeWolf or Dr Doty filed at the AZ Chiropractic Board, they both have to show up in person to defend their actions. It would be great if our collective complaints will stop the threats and harassment. See below, my e-mail if you want to reach out to me.
As you all know, I've lodged 3 complaints to the AZ Chiropractic Board, AZ Attorney General and BBB. The AG and Board sent my complaint to Dr DeWolf for her comments. She said it was an insurance problem but did not offer to rectify it with the insurance company but placed the burden on me. In her response to the Board, she mentions that the practice always verifies patient coverage and explains what the patient responsibility's are. In my case, this never happened. I had an agreement with Dr. Doty that I would pay an office charge upon each visit and only after I met my deductible, the practice would get all the payments. The assumption was that I would continue attending the practice indefinitely. This model would eventually pay the practice what was due, but the care I was receiving was not consistent and I eventually stopped going. Interestingly, I've also listed Dr Ehren Doty as a co-defendant and he has responded that he left Dr DeWolf with the practice and all billing responsibility and basically assumes no liability or fault. Basically, he punted. She states the insurance company should have paid the balance but again has placed the burden on the patients.
She has recently offered to settle my $4K bill by paying 50% of it, but I declined. The Board has recently contacted me to verify some information and stated that a hearing will take place where both defendants will have to attend in person. I know a lot of former patients have reached out to me for information. I can assist in providing details on how to file your own complaints. Please reach out to me at dtlin1@yahoo.com.
