| - What a shithole.
I came here looking for a bicycle, and the stock worker that calls into his walkie talkie for a bicycle specialist to come over, suddenly gets a flurry of yells from the other end as a response. Part of the yelling, coming through the store intercom.
35 minutes later, while I still standing around the bike section and this "bike builder expert" is no where to be found (everyone else went on break), someone actually helpful but not part of the department contacts me.
This random but ATTENTIVE and HELPFUL associate (shes small and Asian I think) answered my questions while everyone else has their thumbs up their asses. Apparently, despite the size of Las Vegas, they do not have a "used bicycle junkyard". Everywhere else, $300+. As a alternative to putting up with this bs from the rest of the staff.
All I want is a cheap bike to take me 0.6 miles from classroom A to classroom B in less than 15 minutes. Driving is not a option, since UNLV is GRIDLOCKED between 4 to 6.
Now I have to get robbed on Craigslist just looking for one. Or look at yard sales.
Anyways back to Goodwill, gonna see if I can paint the female adult speed bike black (looks gender neutral) and have it pass off as a men's. Then swap the narrow tires for road bike tires.
Walmart doesn't have the bike I need, which is 27" to 29" in a reasonable price, tires to take impacts (some sidewalks at UNLV looks like it was hit by a airstrike) and worth losing it to theft from all the tweakers prowling the campus.
