I recently had an emergency medical situation for which I was later admitted to the hospital. I chose to go to Abrazo Scottsdale Campus since it is the closest to my home. Within the 3 days I was there, there were numerous issues and the communication was deplorable. Examples include: (1) I was fed a half hour before a scheduled procedure for which I was going to be put under. Did nobody bother to check my case notes nor the daily schedule? (2) Unable to care for myself, nobody ever asked if I wanted to be washed or cleaned, nor changed my dirty sheets, gown, or commode. (3) A nurse came in in the middle of the night and placed a blood pressure cuff on my arm directly over an IV and pumped it up despite my screams of pain and my arm swelling. (4) Despite a stat order for a blood check on my day of discharge, a nurse advised me that my blood sat for hours in a bin awaiting pickup (5) Although still anemic at time of discharge and unable to walk more than a few feet without assistance, I was asked if I wanted a wheel chair.
I'm bad. I should have checked Medicare, Better Business Bureau, and other hospital reviews more closely. I will certainly never return here.
