After reading the two reviews for DLRR I am disappointed because they do not capture the essence of this rescue group. I became familiar with DLRR through their website and Facebook page. I attended their Corks and Collars fundraiser, which is an incredibly fun event with amazing people. I talked with some volunteers during the event and decided to become a volunteer as well. Although I am fairly new, I believe through my experiences I can adequately talk about the rescue organization.
First, this rescue is 100% volunteer. These are diligent, hard working people who care immensely for the dogs. They are determined to find the perfect home for each dog. The volunteers, including fosters, work hard with each dog. This organization consists of dedicated people who are doing their absolute best to find the right home. This group does not just take money for applications-they explain why there is an application fee on their website. There is also a home visit that is completed before approving an adopter. This group rescues dogs with many medical needs and sees to it that their rescues receive excellent veterinary care.
