I had beef stew. Companion had pot roast. Of the two I thought the beef stew had a richer flavor. The veggies that came with the pot roast were simply steamed. They would have better if they had been roasted with the pot roast.
Both the pot roast and the beef stew came with mashed potatoes. They were a bit thin for my taste but had decent flavor. Also since they were potatoes in the beef stew, I found the addition of the mashed potatoes with the beef stew to be a redundant filler.
Hubbard Street Diner is provides consist service and decent food - in the end I guess it's what a diner is supposed to do.
