Oak Creek Canyon (Red Rock Canyon)
Oak Creek Canyon is an easy to moderate hike located at Red Rock Canyon. The hike is about a mile one-way. You can access the trail from inside the Red Rock Loop or off SR 159 south of the loop exit. I prefer starting the hike off SR 159. Plus, it's free and you don't have to drive through the loop to get there.
The hike towards Oak Creek Canyon is wide open and the trail is very easy to follow. The terrain is mostly packed dirt. As you get closer to the creek, the terrain becomes rocky and there's even a few boulders that you will have to navigate through. The scenery is very calming, especially when there's an abundance of water in the creek. The views include the canyons and Wilson Cliff. Be on the lookout for coyotes. And most importantly, have fun, be safe, and leave no trace.
