rev:text	The saying in our house is that we have to live within five miles from a Target and Costco and we'll be OK. We're fans. We use the Target Red Card and Cartwheel app shopping there. Target has been a staple in our house for years. When the economy turned south and they stopped selling the higher-end stuff I was disappointed but understood. When the Garden Centers closed to be replaced by grocery departments I was disappointed, but adjusted. There seems to be a very slow effort underway to bring in some higher end stuff again, but there is much catching up to do. Lately however I have been extremely disappointed with their grocery department, not in selection but in the lack of pulling expired items from shelves. A few weeks ago I came home with three grocery items that had expired in 2014 (yep, last year). Didn't learn and didn't look last week. I came home with two expired items. So during today's run we made an effort to look at all expiration dates of items we normally would purchase. Of the 20 items we looked at 5 were at least 30 days expired and three were to expire in 2 days (boxed stuff). That is not OK! Sadly this doesn't seem to be contained to bad management at one store. Shopping trip 1 was at one Target (Tempe Marketplace), the other at a different (Indian Bend and Pima) and today's at yet another (44th and Thomas). Yep, there are 3 Targets within 5 miles of my house. I've scaled down my grocery shopping at the store and moved back to the neighborhood grocery store. If you do your grocery shopping at Target, check the expiration dates. For anything else, still not a bad place.
