  • I had received a groupon gift certificate for the PCA Pumpkin Peel facial at Felicite Day Spa. I'm not very familiar with the area but it wasn't too hard to find and there is a business park across the street and since it was the weekend, there was not much traffic. My one complaint which is not connected to the facial itself was the parking situation. There are maybe 5 parking spots in the front, 2-3 of which are handicap and it's off the main road so is a bit challenging to see if the spaces that are free are handicap or not. I thought I saw an open spot only to realize it was a handicap space...but this was after I had pulled in head first. Word to the wise - it's extremely challenging to get out of the lot if you have to back out (since the place is right off a main road, regardless of the traffic situation and b/c of a curve in the main road) but I didn't really have a choice of how to pull in b/c the potential spot was awkwardly placed towards the side and all the other spots were taken. I circled around a bit in the area but there's really no legitimate place to park so I just found an empty spot at a neighboring business (which looked closed on the weekend) and walked myself up to the spa. I asked about parking and they mentioned they have additional spots in the back. I wish I had known this before or that there was clear signage...maybe once you become a "regular" this is a non-issue. But as a first timer, this was irritating which is why I'm docking them one star. As for the facial, it was fantastic. I was a bit nervous since I had never had a "peel" before but I was assured that with this particular peel you're skin doesn't peel off but you may experience some tingling and slight stinging sensation (both of which I did). The facialist (is that what they're called?!?) was fantastic...I think it was Michelle. She talks you through the process and encourages a dialogue so you can let her know the level of tingling/stinging scale from 1-10. All in all it was a relaxing experience once I got the parking situated. My skin felt taut and very smooth - I was told the PCA Pumpkin Peel is essentially an exfoliation mask. I was asked to make sure that I used sunscreen for the next few days and avoid products with strong ingredients such as retinol until my skin could handle it. I guess you're likely to experience more skin sensitivity after this treatment b/c the products you use absorb much better. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
