  • On a quest to find a good pair of shoes for exercising I discovered this new store in the Crowfoot area. FootHealth provides a "we fit you" experience. The first woman that greeted me let me look around a bit before she asked if I needed help. I told her I was looking for a running shoe, but wasn't sure if I needed a cross-trainer or not. Another woman piped in and asked what activities I would be wearing them for. I told her and she suggested a running shoe. The first woman pointed out a couple and I asked to try some on. She sized my feet, then went and got the shoes. As she was helping me put the shoes on, the other woman told her that she should watch me walk first. Another lady had walked in, so the second woman asked the first to go help that lady and she would help me. She then had me walk up and down the hall and watched how I stepped. She said I did have some pronation on my left side, but she felt a neutral shoe would be best for me. She showed me a couple suggestions and I decided to try them on. Again she helped me put the shoes on, tied them for me. I walked around a bit and got a feel for the shoes. I did really like the larger soles on one pair I tried and they felt the most comfortable. She told me I would probably be better to come back later in the day, when my feet are at their largest, so I can get the best fit. She also said if I choose to get a pair to take them to the gym and try them out. If there was any problem I could bring them back within 30 days, as long as they are not worn outside. I decided I would return another day, so she wrote down the style that I liked and gave it to me. The one thing I found about this place was the selection of athletic footwear was limited. They seem to carry a lot of everyday and seasonal footwear. They also do gait scans and orthodics. I was impressed on the knowledge of the staff and I didn't feel pressured, which is always a huge plus in my books! I suggest giving FootHealth a try if you are looking for high quality footwear and want a good fit. I have no doubt the staff will try their hardest to help you find something, but if you can't they won't pressure you!
