| - This is a pretty nice pool.
I visited Las Vegas in June 2017 for a business thing at The Mirage. I went to the pool every day of my stay.
From what I understand, The Mirage pool is large by Vegas standards. I was grateful for that because the usual Vegas attractions don't ring my bell, so a nice pool is right up my alley.
The pool is big. There's nice landscaping with a good mix of sun and shade. Two hot tubs, waterfalls and nice rocks to rest your drink on while you float and read books. That's what I do in hotel pools.
There's clump of palm trees with a sign "Warning, Mockingbird nesting area" I laughed about it until I saw a mockingbird totally attack a guy, then I REALLY laughed about it. Those mockingbirds aren't playing around. Avoid this area during roosting hours.
I also saw a lot of hummingbirds that didn't attack anything but flowers.
The bar is nice, expect hotel prices for your big blue drink with a wedge of pineapple in it, but it's basically a requirement when you're in Vegas. Beer is ice cold. Bar staff was super fun.
Speaking of hotel prices, the little pool shop has everything you need, for money. Shout out to Charlie for being super cool and charming. Everyone at The Mirage was really professional and friendly, but Charlie stood out. Management, if you're reading this, give this woman a raise or a paid vacation or a promotion or a better parking spot or something, she's awesome.
I've heard reports that you have to wake up a 5 in the morning to get a chair, yadda yadda. I didn't have that problem. One busy afternoon my companion and I did have to share a chair, but we were in the water the whole time. The chair was our storage spot. No big deal.
If you're going to Vegas, and you want a big pool, this is your spot. Four very wet stars.
