  • After reading a handful of positive reviews, we decided to go with this company for our move across town. While the crew was very courteous and arrived on time, that's where my satisfaction ends. We can get over the fact that our desk was gauged on its way in or out of the house because it was close enough to the bottom of the desk to make it barely noticeable. However, the three things we cannot get over are this: 1). We were given an estimate of eight hours "on the high side," which was to include their one hour travel time. They didn't have to pack anything. We only hired them to move our heavy furniture. The move ended up taking 11.5 hours, and they didn't even get to put all of our furniture (beds) back together because we asked them to leave due to the rising costs. 2) We moved on a Monday. The following Friday, my husband went back to the old house to get a few items that were still at the house. At this time, he discovered that the movers had unplugged the chest freezer that was left there!!! I'm sure this was done by complete accident, but what aggravates me to no end is that when I called to speak to the manager about our freezer full of now rotten meat, he actually suggested that I unplugged the freezer and was simply blaming his crew. He also said that it was my fault because I should've checked his crew's work. Why would I even think to check if they unplugged the freezer??? I also expressed my disappointment that the crew took 3.5 hours longer than we were quoted. Of course, that was MY fault too, and he said that I didn't give an accurate representation of what needed to be moved (completely untrue since I went through the house room by room with the consultant during my initial call and told her every item that needed to be moved). In reality, the move took longer because one of crew members was clearly useless. The other two drivers were irritated with him to the point that in the final hours, they actually sent him out to the truck to get him out of their hair. So we were paying for three movers but had only two for the last few hours. I will add that the manager offered me $120 for my lost freezer full of meat, (60 cents per pound) which didn't even come close to the total cost of the items in the freezer. Even more than the lost dollars, was the fact that the manager as extremely rude and even said that they had nothing to apologize for!!! He was far from professional. 3). After the food fiasco, I washed my first load of clothes at our new house in the washer that one of the crew hooked up for us. About ten minutes into the cycle, I thought something sounded funny in my upstairs laundry room. I went to check on my clothes and discovered over an INCH of water in my laundry room!!! When I ran downstairs to get my husband, it was even leaking through our kitchen ceiling!!! The crew member hooked up the water line, but he never hooked up the DRAIN hose. All the water that was supposed to go down the drain went all over my floor instead. After the way the manager treated me regarding the freezer problem and lengthy move, I didn't even bother to call to complain again. We have moved both locally and cross country, and we have never had an experience like this. I would not recommend them to anyone. I gave two stars instead of one because the crew was friendly, and the receptionist was also friendly and helpful when scheduling.
