| - Duped, duped, duped! This place had some good aspects, almost enough to overlook the entire rest of the experience, almost. In fact, leaving the restaurant I actually remember feeling pretty good about the meal, but we were duped...
The chip and salsa at the beginning of the meal, and the included dessert at the end, seemed to give us slight amnesia as to the reality of the whole thing.
As we sat in the seat of our car reflecting on the meal we had just consumed, our eyes were opened to the reality that nothing about the meal was even slightly good other than the chips and salsa that had deceived us in the first place.
The actual entrees appeared to be rolled out on a dirty dish cart. Really? You couldn't carry out our food? You couldn't put it on a larger tray? Or maybe even used a different cart, that didn't double as a dirty dish cart that looked like it had been in a school cafeteria? And to top it off our entrees came off the bottom rack... hello, that's usually where half eaten soup bowls and pizza crust go!
Most of the food was soggy, and not all together memorable...not to mention this is less than authentic Mexican food. There were also several small hairs in the food...eyelashes, I think?
But the worst part of the entire meal was their epic deception and blasphemous betrayal of the sangria. We order a carafe of "real" sangria that was rather small for $18, which would have fine except that it reminded us a boxed wine, but we couldn't quite place it...it was not until we got in the car that we realized we'd been duped. The "real" sangria, is actually a brand of store bought sangria you can get 1.5 liters of for $10. No wonder it tasted like boxed wine! Are you kitten me! I've never felt so duped and will not make that mistake again.
If you'd like to have a similar experience to this on the cheap, head on over to your local Safeway, pick up a bottle of "Real Sangria," and a couple of deli chimichangas. To make it an authentic "SÌ Señor" experience, be sure to ask the deli worker to roll them out on cart for you.
