After a night of drinking, Emeril's New Orleans Fish House was tossed out as a suggestion for lunch. Six zombies and a baby wandered into a restaurant with grumbly tummies and a hunger for seafood.
Sweet Corn Bisque & Maine Lobster( $16), Pan Seared Fillet with hollandaise sauce and seafood risotto (forgot the price but it was a lunch special so it changes daily anyways), and Pecan Crusted Texas Redfish ($37). I honestly wasn't feeling too well so I stuck with sharing just a few items.
The Sweet Corn Bisque & Maine Lobster came out first. It was everything I imagined it would be and it instantly made me feel loads better. Sweet corn bisque that melds perfectly to delicious Maine lobster. It had a couple chunks of asparagus and a cherry tomato. The cherry tomato didn't offer much in terms to flavor to the soup so I'm thinking it was there for color and texture as were the asparagus. It was smooth and creamy and was comfort in a bowl.
My main dish was the Pan Seared Fillet with hollandaise sauce on top of a seafood risotto. After my disappointing ribeye at Aria, I was hoping this would hit the spot. It did not. The fillet was cooked perfectly but there was no seasoning and not even a nice char. I pushed my plate away after eating a couple slices of the fillet and most of my risotto. That was some really excellent risotto and the hollandaise was balanced beautifully.
I also got to eat a good bit of the Pecan Crusted Texas Redfish (Anson Mills Pepperjack Cheese Grits, Garden Vegetable Ratatouille with Creole Meuniere Sauce). The fish was amazing and flaky and those grits made my skirt flip. While the garden vegetable ratatouille was fresh and flavorful, I could have done without this and had more cheese grits. Hey, we're talking cheese grits here. Can you blame a girl?
Service was excellent and everything was served with perfect timing and precision. It's a beautiful restaurant and it wasn't too busy on a Saturday noon. It's definitely worth taking a $10 Lyft from Bellagio to MGM for!
