| - ~NOT YOUR AVERAGE MAGIC SHOW~
I've been to Vegas numerous times and have seen numerous shows, especially magic shows. Rick Thomas, Steve Wyrick, even Siegfried and Roy.
I think some are good, some are better than others and some are just duplicates of others. I wasn't all that excited about this show when my younger cousin wanted to come to Rio to watch this, but we all agreed on a quite night: a show and dinner.
Penn and Teller's theme that night was: Love Ritual
Walking into the showroom, you approach a bar, many beers and alcoholic drinks you can get, but they also have themed drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to go along with the show. I got the Liquid Magic, very tropical with coconut, melon, pineapple and rum. I might add that they are not shy with their alcohol.
There are 2 aspects of the show that I really enjoyed were that: 1) It wasn't as if it was act after act, magic after magic. All the acts were put together through a storyline, that included a lot of comedy. They know how to grasp attention immediately and know how to keep it.
2) No spoilers here, so here's a vague description. Before entering the showroom, the audience was asked to pick up some items/props. I didn't know it right away, but it was for a trick where Penn and Teller had the entire audience involved, definitely a interesting and fun activity. There were a lot of acts that I've never seen before, very different tricks in this performance.
Overall, I could say that I misjudged and am very happy I saw this show. It lasted about 2 hours, and I loved every bit of it. Even if you're not into magic, P&T's show could very well fitted for comedy freaks out there. It was fun and definitely great for all ages.
P.S. You're able to meet and greet with Penn and Teller themselves on your way out the main entrance. If you're not bothered by crowds or claustrophobic, get selfies and autographs!
