| - Prelude: So glad I came despite the reviews. Yes there's a wait, I called the day before to find out when it's least busy and they warned it's busy everyday. I arrived promptly at 8:10 the morning after St Pattys and it was, in fact, packed full of patients waiting.
Arrival: Front desk staff was incredibly polite even though I forgot my health card and had my GP fax my referral the day before (risky move on my part) but she got all the info needed and put me in the queue stat.
The Waiting Room: During the wait I read a book, browsed social media and tried to tune out the rude people on their phones. I keep an emergency granola bar for such situations and glad I did, breakfast wasn't enough.
The Doctor: I was eventually seen at 10am and my 15 minutes with Dr. Singh didn't feel rushed, he was thorough and confidently recommended a more aggressive treatment than my current dermatologist (who I would've been scheduled to see 3 months after making an appointment). He seemed to know his stuff and was clear about the side effects of the drugs prescribed.
Conclusion: The decor is great, and they have an informative flyer letting people know about what to expect (worth a read). There's wifi available, just ask front desk for the password though the speed is pretty anemic, my only real complaint is that they should forbid people from talking on their phones and I also had to overhear a few moans about the wait and how sleepy people were. Get it together, just because the healthcare is free doesn't make it any less of a privilege, and although we should hold our providers to the highest standard doesn't mean we forget how to behave in public. I'd rather wait 2 hours and get treated then 3 months while my condition worsens.
